Let’s not forget the famous Bridge of Sighs, connecting the Doge’s Palace to the prisons, evoking stories of prisoners’ last glimpses of the city.
Another architectural gem is the Church of Santa Maria della Salute, located at the entrance of the Grand Canal, built in gratitude for the city’s deliverance from the plague of 1630. Its imposing dome and baroque facade are symbols of hope and rebirth for Venetians, offering a breathtaking view to those entering the city by sea.

These buildings were the residences of wealthy Venetian families, who competed with each other in the art of construction, creating an unparalleled architectural landscape.
